What is post-remediation testing?
Post-remediation testing, often called clearance testing, is an independent check after a mold cleanup. It documents conditions once the contractor says work is finished — before walls are closed up or containment is removed, when possible.
It usually includes a visual inspection of the work area, moisture readings and air sampling compared with an outdoor control.

Why independent testing matters

How to schedule it
Ask your remediation contractor when work and drying will be complete, and book testing for that window. Share the contractor's scope of work so the inspector knows which areas were treated.
If the moisture source wasn't fixed, mold can return — so confirming dry conditions is as important as the air samples.
