Indoor air quality testing measures what is in the air inside your home. Depending on the concern, that can include mold spores, particulates such as PM2.5, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paints, furniture and cleaning products, carbon dioxide as a sign of ventilation, and relative humidity.
Bay Area homes face some specific conditions: wildfire smoke seasons, tightly sealed newer construction, older homes with limited ventilation, and damp winters in foggy neighborhoods. Testing gives you measured information instead of guesses.
Every AirCare visit records humidity and temperature room by room, and can include mold air sampling analyzed by an independent laboratory. Additional testing such as VOCs, allergens or particulates can be added when appropriate, and scope and pricing are confirmed before any extra testing is performed.

How much does indoor air quality testing cost?
Humidity readings and mold air sampling are included in every AirCheck ($595). VOC and allergen testing are quoted separately before any work is done.
Is a home air quality monitor enough?
Consumer monitors are useful for trends, especially particulates. Professional testing adds calibrated equipment, laboratory analysis and an inspector's observations.
Can you tell me if my air is safe?
No test can declare a home safe. We report what was measured and observed so you can make informed decisions, and recommend consulting a medical professional for health questions.
