How it works
Thermal cameras show surface temperature differences. Damp materials often read cooler because of evaporation, which can point to possible moisture behind a surface.
Limits
Thermal imaging does not see through walls or detect mold. Temperature patterns can also come from insulation gaps, air leaks or HVAC ducts.
Confirming findings
Suspicious patterns are checked with moisture meters, and annotated thermal photos are included in your report so you can see exactly where readings were taken.
